On Friday, two days after a grand jury decided not to indict any of the officers involved in the killing of Eric Garner, I photographed a protest against police brutality in Jackson Square. Early in the evening another protest more than double the size took place at a mall on Canal Place where protesters staged a die-in.
While editing my photos I turned on the TV. I wanted to catch up with news on protests taking place across the country. Instead i got to hear news broadcasters’ opinions, none of which made an impression on me.
And then former President George W. Bush weighed in. Bush was quite eloquent, He can’t understand the failure to indict. I’m with him on this one.
